Here are a few highlights of the services provided at the Veazie Animal Wellness Center. Check back often for updates and additions!
Studies have proven that using rehabilitation after surgery provides an easier recovery process and allows a patient to return to better use of the limb.
Our team starts the rehabilitation process immediately after surgery. Treatment is continued throughout your pet's stay with us.
When you take your pet home, one of our rehabilitation technicians will take an hour to go over the process with you and make sure you understand how to continue the process at home.
Veazie Veterinary Clinic and the Veazie Animal Wellness Center offer some of the area's most comprehensive breeding and reproduction services. From the day you start to consider the possibility of breeding, our staff can consult with you about the appropriate testing and the steps required to responsibly breed your dog.
We offer semen collection and evaluation, fresh chilled and frozen shipping and storage as well as surgical and side by side insemination. Follow up care after breeding includes pregnancy ultrasound, radiographs and caesarian section if needed. Call to schedule your consultation with Dr. Keene today.
Many types of cancer can be treated, or the quality of life improved, with chemotherapy. The decision whether or not to go forward with cancer treatments can be a difficult one and is one made by the owners with support from doctors.
Dr. Julie Keene can consult with you about the different chemotherapy drugs and give you information about the best course of treatment for your pet.
In fostering the human-animal bond, we are dedicated to helping you prevent or address behavioral problems with your pet. As a result, you can schedule a half an hour to hour behavior consultation with any of our veterinarians.
For your appointment we usually ask you not to bring your pet. You will discuss your concerns at length with the doctor and go home with a detailed plan on how to address the behavior. Each doctor has a special interest in either cats, dogs or both. Call us to schedule your consult today!
In a recent U.S. study it was found that 25% of all dogs were overweight or obese. This statistic concerns us, because obesity can lead to serious health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory and skeletal problems.
If those few extra pounds you were going to take off your pet this summer didn't come off, our trained technicians can help you create a feeding program and implement an exercise program to help you have a healthier pet.
In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him.
